Derek has risen up the ranks very quickly and is in no doubt one of the future stars of the 212lb
weight class in the IFBB Pro division. He impressed everyone with his first pro debut victory!
While young and relatively little experience compared to the veterans of Bodybuilding, he has
put together a game plan that works well for him and his young body. Let's take a glance:
Tip 1 - Give yourself plenty of time to start your diet, 20 weeks out even.
Tip 2 - Essentials include chicken, rice, egg whites and occasionally broccoli.
Tip 3 - It's ok to add 15-20lbs over stage weight in the off-season of quality size.
Tip 4 - Never skip meals or double up missed ones. Stay on course for success!
Tip 5 - If in doubt, hire a pair of eyes to help you in the final weeks.
Training has always been the strong suit for Derek. It's his passion for training which stemmed from his
wrestling career that helped him become the tremendous rising star he is in the IFBB pro ranks.
Training, as Derek puts it, or bodybuilding in general is essentially a lifestyle. If you do it because
you have to, then you'll fail. You have to love it. Want it. Earn it. That's what Derek does, everyday.
Tip 1 - Be sure to warm-up each muscle group prior to training, safety first!
Tip 2 - Follow your instincts and choose exercises which feel right that day.
Tip 3 - Switch up the order and repetition range of exercise frequently.
Tip 4 - Full range of motion is essential in every single exercise.
Tip 5 - Don't let the weight play the ego game, focus on form.
